Work description

***** THIS IS AN AWARD NOTICE, NOT A CALL FOR COMPETITION *****

This procurement is being concluded following a mini competition under the DPS Research and Insights framework RM6126

Brief Description of Requirement

In 2010, the UK Space Agency commissioned the first wave of the Size and Health of the UK Space Industry (henceforth referred to as 'Size & Health'), research into organisations in the UK that supply or make use of the space sector. With Standard Industry Classification (SIC) codes unable to provide an adequate definition of the sector, this is the definitive source of evidence on the size of the UK space industry and its key characteristics.

The Size & Health is used to: • Establish the industry's general size and health. • Inform industry and government activity and priorities. • Add to the UKSA and DSIT's evidence base. • Input into the formulation of UK space policy. • Track progress towards policy objectives, such as those set out in the Space Innovation and Growth Strategy 2014-30.

The Size & Health now takes place annually, with the most recent wave in 2022 , and historic waves from 2010-2021 reflecting the vital role it plays in enhancing our understanding of the sector and in improving our evidence base.
