TD1922b - Assembly Rooms Principal Contractor Pre-demolition Works Option 3

Direct Award via SCAPE Construction England and Wales Up to £7.5m

Procurement of a principal contractor, Morgan Sindall, to carry out pre-demolition surveys, preparing the Assembly Rooms and MSCP for demolition.

Option 3 works includes: surveying RAAC planks, a demolition asbestos survey, installation of task lighting, erection of scaffolds for surveys, inspection of gantries to the Great Hall and a small element of soft strip.

All the works are to be undertaken over a 20 week contract period. It is likely the Council will instruct compensation events to include other works which will increase the scope and contract value and extend the contract period by 6 to 12 months, these include: soft strip, asbestos removal, party wall negotiations and other miscellaneous surveys needed for demolition.
