PLEASE APPLY VIA THE KENT BUSINESS PORTAL & REGISTER HERE FOR FURTHER DETAILS: https://procontract\.due-north\.com/Advert?advertId=ed5a2cda-79fe-eb11-810d-005056b64545&p=8691483f-2f3d-e711-80e1-005056b64545 Medway Council is seeking to establish an approved list of garages for the testing and examining of licensed vehicles on behalf of the authority\. Section 50\(1\) of the Local Government \(Miscellaneous Provisions\) Act 1976 requires vehicles to be tested within the area of the Council, therefore the contracts statutory requirement, which relates to external provision outside the Borough, is not applicable\. The Council's intention is to have a number of nominated garages, a maximum of 10, on an approved list to carry out mechanical and visual inspections of the Medway Council licensed Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicles\. The taxi trade will be able to choose, at their own discretion, which of the garages included on the final approved list to use\. Garages that are awarded a contract to be included in the approved list will be subject to unannounced audits and inspections by the Authorised Officers of the Council\. The Contract is anticipated to commence on 1st September 2021 and will continue for a period of 3 years, with an option to extend for a further period of 1 year, unless terminated in accordance with the Conditions of Contract\.
