## Description

DCMS commissioned research to: 1\. Understand how current and future technological trends might shape the supply-side \(supply chain factors and costs\) and the demand-side \(i\.e\. how network operators buy equipment and associated services and options available\) of the UK telecoms equipment market, in the next 5 to 10 years\. 2\. Identify opportunities that may require policy interventions to improve the functioning of the market and the outcomes\. 3\. Propose a range of short term and longer term policy options \(highlighting potential market-based solutions\), with a framework for practical implementation and assessment that would help us achieve our targeted diversification strategy\.
