Work description
The Council is inviting tenders from Garage Owners to carry out Certificate of Compliance inspection and testing of taxis and private hire vehicles. With reference to the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provision) Act 1976, section 50, the Council requires that all testing stations / garages under this Contract must be located within the Borough of Crawley. The Council intends to award the Contract to a maximum number of five organisations. The Council licences approximately 650 vehicles and each vehicle is required to have undertaken a Certificate of Compliance once per annum if under 4 years old and twice per annum if older than 4 years. The Council requires that all testing stations / garages under this Contract shall have a minimum of two ramps and shall employ at least two qualified MOT testers.
