Work description

Repair or replace the fire doors in the Peter Allen Building, Station Hall, Learning Platform, and Archives at the NRM. The works will bring the fire safety rating in the buildings to the required standard. The Contractor will address these failures by repairing or replacing all the doors across these four buildings, as required. New doors are required for Fire Safety for the staff and visitors and for the protection of the highly significant museum collections. Illustrative designs have been agreed for the replacements, as the site has a high heritage value, with the Peter Allen Building and Station Hall being Grade II listed. The doors are to be sensitively repaired where possible, or else constructed to the allocated design and hung within the original frame.
