## Description

Award of a contract by NHS South West London CCG\. Short-term crisis intervention as an alternative to hospital admission for adults experiencing mental health crisis\. Provision of 24/7 residential, social care model of crisis response and support offering responsive, person-centred care\. Service aims: • Resolving the presenting crisis • Identifying relevant coping strategies with the view of maintaining positive wellbeing • Reducing dependency on statutory services Additional information: Comfort Care were approached as there was a lack of trusted suitable specialist local MH complex care providers in Richmond and Kingston place with an accessible property\. Urgent provision had to be put in place during the pandemic and awarding of this contract to this provider will ensure continuity of this service for a specialist provision for a very vulnerable patient group\. Due to the uncertainties around how the emerging Integrated Care System \(ICS\) will work around NHS governance and commissioning this interim contract for 18 months is necessitated to ensure service stability during the current NHS transition phase and to provide sufficiency of time to agree future substantive commissioning intentions\. NHS South West London CCG recognises its obligations under the NHS \(Procurement Patient Choice and Competition\)\(No\.2\) Regulations 2013 and assesses this contract award to be proportionate at this time, to secure essential patient services, assessing the solution to offer a quality service and securing value for money, whilst delivering immediate benefit to affected patients\.
