Hailsham Town Council - South Road Playground

Description

To undertake a holistic review and rebuild of the facilities at the South Road Play Area, including new equipment and other amendments implemented at the playground, including disabled accessible play equipment.

Required elements of the review and rebuild will include:

- Additional public benches (and other furniture) in the playground

- Widening of the gate at the north side of the playground to ensure it is wheelchair accessible

- More accessible play equipment

- The removal of the roundabout currently on the playground

- The removal of the see-saw and 'rocket' from the centre of the playground, which are old and due for removal or replacement

- Not to remove the swings which have very recently been installed

- Resurfacing of the playground as required according to equipment decided on.

The Town Council has generally favoured robust, galvanised, painted metallic equipment rather than wooden for issues of maintenance and repair.

Companies will be asked to provide evidence of financial security (for e.g. two years accounts)

18.11.2020 - Assets Management Committee Meeting - assess tenders received and decide on preferred 3-4.

18.11.2020 - 23.12.2020 - Public Consultation Period

13/20.01.2021 Assets Management Committee Meeting - select winning tender based on consultation results

01.02.2021 - Contract Start Date
