GB-Swindon: UKRI-3307 Electron Beam Weld Trials

Description

This contract award notice is for welding trials, testing and qualification work for the future manufacture of two particle production targets for the LBNF facility. The LBNF target is a critical In-Kind Contribution included in a US/UK Science and Technology Agreement signed at a governmental level in September 2017 alongside a BEIS capital investment in the LBNF/DUNE project. Following the funding announcement, STFC has is able to have a RAL led team to design and construct the neutrino production target and ancillary components as an In-Kind contribution to the experiment.
