The works will include guided track, rolling stock, signalling, mechanical and electrical services, platform screen doors and all associated works. The successful contractor will also be required to operate and maintain the system for a period of up to 5 years (with an option for LLAL to extend this by a further 5 years). Some of the works will be within the airside sections of the airport. The capital works will be funded by LLAL on a lump sum FIDIC contract basis. A separate contract will be entered into for the operations and maintenance of the system. The procurement will be carried out under a competitive dialogue procedure and delivering growth and investing in social values within the local area will form part of the award criteria.

The duration of the capital works construction contract is 42 months. The O&M contract is for 5 years with an option for LLAL to extend for a further 5 years.
