The Provision of Secured Transport Services for Children and Young People

Description

It is statutory duty of Local Authorities to provide secure transport to children whilst under authorities' protection. Currently the London borough of Barnet, Family Services directorate use 2 companies, as one provides local transport, whilst the other is in North England. Though the need of this requirement is not high, the quality must meet a certain standard as this transport is used for children that are at high risk including remand. The service availability must be 24/7. Drivers and escorts need to be trained in the field with risk assessment.
