Description
As a result of the United Kingdom's exit from the European Union, full border controls were introduced in a staged manner from January 2021 to allow transit controls, export controls and import controls for controlled goods, HMRC constructed six temporary sites known as Inland Border Facilities [IBF]. All of these sites were intended to be temporary facilities until permanent solutions could be provided for the checking of goods entering and leaving the UK. Several sites have been identified for closure in 2022 and so will require reinstatement in line with the relevant lease agreement to complete the reinstatement works to ensure HMRC fulfil its lease obligations.
