Work description
This contract is to purchase research contributing to the evaluation of the In-Work Progression (IWP) randomised control trial (RCT). The requirement covers three strands of research: a longitudinal quantitative survey with UC claimants across the IWP trial’s three treatment groups (3,000 at Wave 1 and 1,800 at Wave 2); two waves of qualitative interviews with these claimants (60 at Wave 1 and 30 at Wave 2); qualitative interviews with 30 employers across three employment sectors. The supplier will present interim findings from Wave 1 of the claimant research and the employer research in December 2016. The supplier will produce a final report synthesising findings from all research strands in December 2017. As part of a robust overall evaluation, these findings will provide an in-depth understanding of how effective the department’s core in-work service is at supporting progression. Identifying which aspects of the service work most effectively and for whom will help to inform future design and targeting of the department’s in-work offer.
