Work description

The project will establish a Phase 1 University Campus in Peterborough, for 2,000 students by September 2022, with a curriculum and delivery model that is designed to meet the skills needs that growth in the Greater Peterborough business base will generate. This vehicle for increasing the supply of HE skills into the workforce is a key component of the LIS and achieving a doubling of GVA in the CPCA economy as a whole. The wider vision of the project is to set up an independent University in Peterborough and the associated brand, and to create an institution which reflects the needs, and resonates with the aspirations of, the local population and local businesses. This tender process is for the design and construction of a development that provides circa 5,300m2 of HE facilities with a mixture of teaching spaces, ICT teaching spaces, skills laboratory spaces, lecture theatre facilities, breakout spaces, library space, meeting spaces, staff offices, food & beverage offering and external car park with associated landscaping. It is anticipated that the contract sum is in the order of £15-20m and the facility must be operational and teaching by 29th August 2022.
