Timeline
Description
The purpose of this work is to investigate the potential impacts on, and benefits for the community of the development of a Geological Disposal Facility (GDF) for higher activity radioactive waste. The Study will take the form of a desk-based literature review and will draw together information to give the South Copeland community insight into how it might look and feel to host a GDF during its siting, characterisation, construction and operational phases. It is anticipated that this will form an initial study which will be refined and expanded over time to focus upon other areas of concerns that may arise.
