Granby House is a sheltered housing scheme in Melton Mowbray consisting of 34 flats owned and operated by Melton Borough Council.

The proposed project involves the following works:

• Upgrade of the existing finishes within the communal areas. This will amount to new floor covering, wall finishes and decoration. • Replacement of the existing communal kitchen facilities. • Replacement of the existing communal bathroom facilities. • New communal heating system installed to serve all properties, including a new plant room and associated plant. • Existing windows to all properties will also be replaced. • Installation of mechanical ventilation within the flats. • New communal ambient and emergency lighting within the communal areas.

Some of the key challenges associated with this project will be:

• Working in a live environment with vulnerable residents. • Programming the works to maintain the services within the building. • Arranging and maintaining access for residents throughout the building. • Liaising with project stakeholders.
