Cornwall Council - Adult Carers, Transition and Young Carers Service

CARERS SERVICE – PROVIDER ENGAGEMENT EVENT Cornwall Council is inviting providers interested in the provision of a Carers Service in Cornwall to a provider engagement session at 10am – 12 noon on 10 August 2015 at New County Hall, Truro, TR1 3AY.

This market engagement is not part of any procurement process. It is purely investigatory in nature, although it may be used to assist the Council in defining a work programme and assisting in developing this service. Participation of this soft market assessment will not prejudice suppliers participating in any future procurement.

These services are to include support to all Carers, specifically with a view to 3 key areas. Adult Carers (aged over 18 years), Young Carers (aged up to 18 years) and Transition Carers (Carers aged between 16 and 25) – the potential business value is estimated at £1.5 million per annum.

The required service provision will include, but not be limited to: • Carer Support Workers – providing advice, assistance and Carers Assessments (below). • Carers Assessments – to undertake formal Carers Assessments and assess the Carer’s eligible need, identify support for Carers and where appropriate arrange the provision of a Carers Personal Budget. • Carers Helpline • Carers Website • Carers Forums • Carers Newsletter • Carers Database • Carers Training • Community Based Activities • Fundraising/grant applications • To support and facilitate the development of an increased level of direct support for Young Carers through locality teams and a range of key services including health services, schools and colleges

Interested organisations who consider that they would be able to meet the potential outlined requirements (Delivery of services to the approximate value of £1.5m per annum) are invited to attend on 10 August 2015. Please could all providers (including those who have expressed an interest in the soft market test) who wish to attend on the day submit their details (as outlined below) to ryorke@cornwall.gov.uk by no later than Thursday 6 August 2015 along with any additional information which may be relevant and of interest to the Council.
