Description
The Transport Strategy Group at Henley Town Council are hoping to install car park monitoring systems in the town, to reduce congestion and pollution from cars circulating central car parks. The monitoring system, through loop counters, ANPR, or observing cameras, would track the number of cars in the two town centre short stay car parks - Greys Road car park (postcode RG9 2FA) and Kings Road car park (RG9 2DG). This information would then be displayed on road/parking signs at the three main entry/exit points to the town. These signs would also provide drivers with directions to their nearest long stay car park. The car parks are not in Town Council ownership, but initial discussions with the car park owners have taken place regarding the installation of monitoring equipment. Visual analysis of the spaces is likely to be the preferred option. There is no intention currently to link the space monitoring to revenue collection. The Transport Strategy Group are looking for quotes from companies on the installation of a system along these lines in Henley. This is a live invitation, however the money to fund the project is yet to go through Council. As such, dates on this notice are a basic guide only. PLEASE NOTE: The £10k 'Value of Contract' is a MINIMUM GUIDE. We would appreciate proposals as close to £10k as possible, however we accept that costs are likely to be higher than this. To apply, please email your quotation and proposal to the contact on the following page. If you require more information, do not hesitate to get in touch.
