Work description
Essex County Council are retendering the Children Looked After Attendance and Monitoring Checks contract. The current contract expires on the 31st August 2016.
Essex County Council have a statutory duty to safeguard children and to promote the education of children in care. Children Missing Education are the responsibility of the Local Authority under S19 of the 1996 Education Act (and as amended by The Children School and Families Act 2010 and monitoring their attendance at alternative provision is important for these vulnerable learners.
The aims and objectives of this service are to monitor daily by manual telephone calls the attendance and exclusion of these cohorts of children to enable early intervention.
