Legal sessions for Syrian vulnerable persons resettlement.

Refugees that arrived in Barnet through the VPR scheme have been through major displacement and have been identified by the UNHCR as vulnerable. Understandably, families have many questions relating to their status, applying for leave to remain, and understanding their rights, and as a local authority we are unable to provide this information to the families. Barnet Homes would like to commission a series of advice sessions and drop-ins that the families are able to access free of charge. Although there is an emphasis on English learning, to ensure that the most is gotten out of these sessions, they should be delivered in Arabic and translated to English, to ensure a clear understanding and also to help the families recognise context appropriate words and phrases in English.
