Work description
A number of service areas within Newcastle City Council have certification/registration to the following industry management standards:
- ISO 9001 Quality Management System - ISO 14001 Environmental Management System - ISO 45001 Health & Safety Management System
Newcastle City Council is mature in embedding management system standards within its business operations. Some of these accreditations have been held since the 1990's, and they are recognised within the Council as being critical to business operations. The key benefits are seen as reducing costs, improving the quality of services and performance, protecting staff, the public and the environment and supporting competition with the private sector.
