Work description

Bury Council is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced provider for the delivery of Physiotherapy Services to Council Employees. The provision of this service is specifically aimed at both preventing sickness absence and enabling employees to recover at a faster rate, thereby reducing absence costs. It is not a substitute for NHS treatment, but is used to provide a quicker and more responsive facility for employees with acute pain and symptoms before NHS treatments become available. This service will also be offered to employees working within 'Persona', the Council's Local Authority Trading Company (LATCo) who are leading providers of Adult Social Care throughout the borough. It will also be offered to a number of schools within the borough who operate independently of the Council. One of the Council's ambitions is to be the 'Healthiest Borough in the North West'. With 73% of Bury employees being residents of the borough, the provision of this service supports that ambition, and would also contribute to the wider agenda of health & wellbeing across the community. The contract is for the period 1st June 2019 to 31st May 2021 with an option to extend for two further twelve month periods until 31st May 2023. The closing time for expressing an interest in the opportunity via The Chest is 5.00 pm on Monday 4th February 2019 The closing time for completed tender submissions, via The Chest, is 12 noon on Friday 8th February 2019.
