Description

Following the successful launch of the award-winning Special Exhibitions Gallery and with vital repairs and key projects now underway, the Science and Industry Museum is looking to focus on the next stage of their masterplan vision. Part of this is to develop the public realm proposals with the aim of developing a coherent approach to make the vast public realm spaces accessible, better connected with visitor journeys through our buildings, as well as engaging to visitors. This is an exciting opportunity to re-imagine the site in a way that reflects the museum's ambitions as well as the opportunities arising from neighbouring developments. There are also significant challenges in considering how this protected site might be developed given planning, budgetary and physical constraints. We are looking to appoint a consultancy with experience in Urban Planning, Masterplanning, Accessible Design and Landscape Architecture to work alongside a Quantity Surveyor and an internal project team to develop a feasibility and options appraisal.
