Work description
Blackpool Council are planning to transform the inner area of Blackpool through refurbishment and new build, and working with residents, enabling a transition to high quality residential neighbourhoods by the sea alongside a rejuvenated visitor economy. Delivering our ambitions will not only make the town fit for the next 100 years but will remove the current drag on the local economy of transience and the re-cycling of poverty, and at the same time reduce the cost to the public purse by creating stable and self-sustaining communities The Claremont ward has a population of around 7000 people and sits directly north of the town centre. It comprises a mix of residential and commercial units, together with a range of hotels and Bed and Breakfast accommodation on the seafront. Whilst Claremont does have its social and economic problems, it also boasts a strong community spirit and a range of multi-agency engagement and project work.
