## Description

This service is to cover all of HM Prisons, and service will be conducted remotely\. The Public Protection Group \(part of HMPPS\) require independent medical advisors to provide a view whether an application meets the requirements in the Early Release on Compassionate Grounds Policy Framework\. Advisors must be a qualified doctor with current registration to the General Medical Council, as per the ERCG Policy Framework\. The medical advisor will be expected to review the reports, provide a plain English summary and provide a view on whether the clinical criteria for consideration for ERCG has been met\. This will be written in a format that is accessible to non-clinical personnel within PPCS/HMPPS, to inform their decision making\.
