ESCC-RFQ-Furniture at Seaford Library

Description

Seaford Library is located on the High Street of the town. The library is on two levels and is a large open plan space, providing stock to browse and borrow, reading and study space and free public computers. We are looking for a design that creates more clearly defined 'zones' within the library and includes private areas for quiet study and reading. We would also like a focus on the design of the reading area, located at the front of the library and visible from the High Street. This area should draw in customers and feel inviting, cosy and comfortable. As usage is changing, each library needs reviewing to ensure it meets the needs of customers now and into the future. We are seeing more customers that require study space (with or without electronic devices), good usage of the public computers and a need for more flexible use of the library space in general (i.e. groups wishing to use the space, including groups of adults/children for larger weekly events. It is also important customers are able to browse stock and be drawn in by a good level of display to demonstrate the different categories of interesting stock. In this project we are redecorating the library and are looking to change the layout, using existing shelving and adding new soft seating, furniture, display units and study spaces.
