Work description

The Council wishes to invite tenders for the supply of services in respect of the following. Newark and Sherwood District Council have ownership of a small area of woodland (Intake Woods) in Clipstone, Nottinghamshire. A felling licence has been applied for to remove several parcels of mature Corsican Pine and to thin a number of additional parcels of Corsican pine and mixed broadleaf trees (Approval for the clear felling has been given and amendments agreed). The trees will then be sold to fund the works.

This contract is to include the felling of the stands identified on the attached map within the tender documentation and the thinning of a number of other marked stands. The trees to be thinned will be marked in advance by council officer.

Further information on the requirement and relevant performance standards are available within the Specification. The anticipated contract commencement date is 01/11/2024. The Council proposes to enter into one contract for a period of 12 months with the option to extend for a period of up to 12 months. The expected Revenue for this contract is £ 41,000.00 for the value of the timber to be sold once felled (exclusive of VAT), with a proportion of profits made from sale, returned to the Council.
