Description

The Chancellor has commissioned the Centre for Data Ethics and Innovation to research and advise upon online targeting using personal and/or demographic data, a practice that has potential to be beneficial but may also be intrusive or even manipulative. The topic was decided upon after engagement with a wide range of stakeholders. The purpose of the public dialogue is to understand and explore public understanding, perceptions and attitudes towards online targeting in order to inform the advice and recommendations the Centre will give to Government.
