The latest finding from the Mental Health of Children and Young People in England (2017) survey and Millennium Cohort Study (MCS) suggests slight increases in the level of mental health disorders in 5 to 15 year olds. National treatment and referral data indicate increased level of demand for specialist mental health interventions over the last decade. General surveys have also found increased levels of low wellbeing in children in England. Locally, young people, teachers and school support staff tell us that mental health is getting in the way of learning at school.
