Strategic Heat Opportunities Study The Strategic Heat Opportunities Study aims to review Cornwall’s low carbon heat resource potential in order to identify where heat networks can be deployed as a means of:

• Supporting effective exploitation of Cornwall’s renewable and secondary heat resource potential; • Promoting low carbon economic growth; • Reducing both the costs and carbon emissions associated with Cornwall’s heat demand; • Forming a key component of our strategic approach to combatting fuel poverty; • Helping to realise the C&IoS Local Enterprise Partnership’s ambition for the region to develop leadership in the ‘green and marine’ economy.

As well as providing supporting evidence for Cornwall Council’s Case for Cornwall (C4C) devolution ask for powers to establish ‘Low Carbon Heat Enterprise Zones’ covering new commercial developments where heat networks are deployed
