Timeline
Description
Councils are raising concerns regarding the escalating cost of providing home-to-school transport, which is being driven by the growth in numbers of children with an Education, Health and Care Plan. While additional funding to meet growing need is essential in the short term, this must be accompanied by longer-term reform of home to school transport, which is based on legislation that is 80 years old, we are therefore looking to commission research. Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.
