## Description

The MCA are currently reviewing how it undertakes the assessments associated with UK Seafarers obtaining a UK Certificate of Competence \(CoC\)\. The current provision is conducted on a concessions basis with the MCA receiving a payment from the service provider to ensure that all costs associated with assistance and oversight of this service are fully recovered to mitigate against any burden on the UK taxpayer\.
