Additional information: Springfield Park is one of Hackney’s finest green spaces and is listed as a Grade II park on the English Heritage Register of Parks and Gardens of Historic Interest.
The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) has awarded Hackney Council a Development Grant to further develop plans to restore and improve Springfield Park. Plans include refurbishment of all of the park's buildings - which date back to the mid-19th century - upgrade work on the park's footpaths, play equipment and gates, as well as preservation and enhancement of the park's magnificent landscape.
The HLF has pledged to provide a full grant for these works, but a second-round HLF application needs to be submitted to secure it.
