Work description
Historic England's (HE) Archive Building in Swindon is designed to provide the optimum storage for photographs. On 4 floors, it has 8 large vaults, 8 small vaults and 4 workshop rooms, mainly air conditioned to 6 degrees Celsius. HE seeks a technical solution to a number of lone working concerns with the Archive Building:
- Staff becoming unconscious and lying undiscovered leading to injury or death - Staff needing to get help in the event of injury or entrapment - Finding staff within the archive building if they need assistance - Communication for people unable to use stairs who in refuge areas in the event of a fire alarm sounding - Providing a log of people inside the archive building in the event of a fire alarm sounding
