## Description

The University of Sheffield requires a transmission electron microscope, side entry holder and electronic detector along with the required computers for their operation primarily for: \(i\) imaging of negatively stained single protein molecules; \(ii\) imaging of resin-embedded biological and biomedical samples; \(iii\) room temperature tomography of the above\. The system will be housed in a purpose built facility along with a number of other microscopes\. In many cases it will act as a screening instrument for samples prior to preparation for cryomicroscopy\. The microscope will replace our current Phillips CM100 microscope\.
