Work description

This notice relates to the tender for the construction, completion, testing and commissioning of the following works; A350 Farmers Roundabout Signalisation and Semington Roundabout Improvements. Wiltshire Council has received funding from the National Productivity Investment Fund (NPIF) to carry out capacity and safety improvement works to the A350 "Farmers" roundabout in Melksham. The A350 is an important transport link for towns in the west of Wiltshire, connecting them to the M4 in the north and the A36 and the A303 in the south. Growth of the local economy is dependent on improving capacity of the A350, where the Farmers roundabout currently presents a pinch point. Potential Contractors are invited to tender for the Signalisation and associated highway improvements to the A350 Farmers roundabout. The works comprise of; Farmers roundabout - signalisation with junction improvements extending to and including the A365/A350 Bath Road/Beanacre junction. Semington Roundabout - construction of an extended merge taper to the A350 north exit. Resurfacing of the A350 Western Way (Semington to Farmers link road), with minor improvements to the public footways at these locations.
