Work description
Objectives of the project are to:
- Reduce the risk of flooding to people, property & business in the Bridge End and Tyne Mills Industrial Estates, and surrounding areas. - Deliver value for money by identifying a technically feasible option that provides best possible economic standard of protection for managing flood risk that is resilient and adaptive to climate change. - Contribute to the national Outcome Measure targets for value, flood risk and environmental benefits - Deliver an option to address flood risk which creates a better place, maximises environmental outcomes for people and wildlife, protects existing business activity, relieves blight and supports increased economic growth in this area. - Maximise efficiency savings and contribute to EA efficiency targets. - Minimise and mitigate any adverse impacts from a health, safety and environmental perspective that may result from the project.
