LU00478 - The provision of an Interactive Learning Facility

The Interactive Learning Facility project aims to use state-of-the-art software to create simulations of real-life scenarios, allowing small groups of students to engage with realistic situations in a safe and accessible environment. This new structure will sit perfectly within the proposed £50m redevelopment of STEM facilities and will be available to more than 1800 undergraduates and postgraduates across a range of disciplines each year.

The facility will enable students to experience real-life situations within working Chemical Engineering Plants, building sites, design environments and other scenarios, which they would not otherwise have the opportunity to access. The facility will have interactive technology and 360°, high definition screens combined with surround sound, which will enhance the learning experience and allow students to fully immerse themselves in the scenarios.
