Work description
Following the opening of the new Exhibition Road entrance in June 2017, the next major project at the V&A is to transform the entrance on Cromwell Road. This iconic space has acted as a welcome and hub for visitors for over 100 years, not only as a point of orientation and visit planning, but as a centre for events of all types. The V&A is inviting interested design teams, comprising of designers/architects and user experience designers working together to apply to provide design services for the refurbishment of the Cromwell Road entrance; a project in two phases.
Phase 1 will comprise a redesign of: -Glass entrance doors -Security bag check area
Phase 2 will comprise a redesign of: -Entrance desk -Furniture -Cloakroom -Men's and Women's toilets -Lighting -Heating
An overall concept design for the entire space will be required as part of Phase 1, to ensure that the elements delivered fit within the identity of the wider design.
