Work description

City of Wolverhampton Council is acting as the contracting authority on behalf of South Staffordshire Council, Staffordshire County Council, and the City of Wolverhampton Council to procure an experienced and innovative consultant to conduct a comprehensive feasibility study and associated marketing activation strategy for the 'Economic Growth Zone'.

The councils have demonstrated a successful history of collaboration, delivering significant projects such as the UK's most successful enterprise zone focused on advanced manufacturing. The i54 development, with investments exceeding £1.5 billion, has attracted major occupiers like JLR's UK Engine Manufacturing Centre (now the Jaguar Land Rover Electric Propulsion Manufacturing Centre) and MOOG Aerospace, creating thousands of high-quality jobs and boosting the local supply chain.

The partnership is keen to build on this success and understand the potential to bring forward further opportunities within the area, including around M54 junction 2, the WM Interchange, and the newly announced Green Innovation Corridor in Wolverhampton - home to Wolverhampton Science Park, the University of Wolverhampton Springfield Campus and key regeneration opportunities within and on the edge of the City Centre.

This study will produce a compelling visionary narrative to underpin future collaborations and support the marketing of this economic growth zone.
