Borough Landscape Character Assessment

Tenders Are Invited For Suitably Qualified Landscape Architects To Undertake Landscape Character And Capacity Studies For Tunbridge Wells Borough Tunbridge Wells Borough Council (TWBC) is inviting tenders from suitably experienced consultant Landscape Architects to undertake a review and update of the Borough Landscape Character Area Assessment SPD 2011 for the whole Borough and to update and extend the existing Landscape Character and Capacity Study 2009 for areas of possible growth. This work is to form a critical part of the Councils evidence base for a new Local Plan and will inform options for growth and development management decisions for the next decade and beyond. The quality of the landscape across the whole Borough is high with much of it very high, and has been identified by residents as one of its main assets. Its national importance is recognised by the fact that around 70% of the Borough is designated as part of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Tenders must be from a recognised practice of the Landscape Institute and the senior person responsible for carrying out the work must be a Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute with at least 5 years post charter experience in landscape assessment including protected lowland landscapes and experience of capacity studies on a similar scale.
