## Description

This project is intended to deliver three individual building investigations in support of the Bishop Auckland Heritage Action Zone \(HAZ\) programme: namely the former Co-operative store \(latterly Beales\) on Newgate Street; the Mechanics' Institute on Victoria Street, and the conjoined properties 65 Fore Bondgate and 6-7 North Bondgate \(latterly trading as Bar Mondo\)\. All three properties lie within the 'Town Centre' character area as defined by the 2014 Conservation Area Appraisal \(Durham County Council 2014\)\.
