Work description
Westmorland and Furness Council has been awarded funding to deliver a dedicated and segregated cycle scheme in Kendal town from A65 Stramongate to Nether Bridge including the Riverside footpath. We see this project as the first phase of wider improvements across the town. This project will complement the Kendal LUF proposals. This will support the development of new cohesive, coherent, and connected infrastructure designed to the latest standards, encouraging greater uptake in walking, cycling and wheeling, helping to address the high levels of deprivation and poor mental and physical health.
The proposed scheme includes segregated cycleways, enhanced crossings and junction improvements that benefit both cyclists and pedestrians
