Description
Essex County Council are procuring on behalf of Tendring District Council an Active Outdoor Gym\r \r INTRODUCTION\r Tendring District Council has secured £65,000 of funding to develop an active outdoor gym on land adjacent to York Road Car Park in Holland on Sea.\r \r Objectives\r The purpose of the gym will be to improve strength and balance through natural, every day movement, and to offer rehabilitation in those recovering from injury or illness. The equipment must reflect that the community groups most likely to use this will be those with poorer mobility/dexterity. The colours used for equipment should reflect the fact that there may be users with forms of dementia, for which some colours can prove challenging.\r The gym may be utilised by groups undertaking rehabilitation with a trained professional, or by members of the public alone. The layout of the equipment should facilitate this.\r The Council is seeking to enter a contract with a suitably qualified contractor to install new equipment that will meet the objectives allowing for the best use of the funds within the available space.\r The successful contractor will design and build the gym, including the surfacing and access, project managing the process from start to completion, as well as providing the required warranties and maintenance information.
