Description
Support the acceleration of the maturation rates of younger prisoners to reduce the risk of further offending The aims of the project are: - To deliver direct individual support to an identified cohort of younger prisoners to support their journey towards sustained maturity to self-manage in the custodial environment; These men will generally be under 29, however it is possible (exceptionally) that some men outside of this age group may have specific maturity issues. - To accelerate maturity, a known risk factor for those in the criminal justice system and a barrier to desistance. - To support the understanding and confidence of prison staff around the maturation agenda through bespoke training and resources; - To leave a tangible legacy that can be maintained within 'business as usual' and scaled up as necessary.
