Waste Strategy For Essex (Consultation Readiness)

ECC requires an external specialist, best practice body to support them during a period of consultation, launching September 13th, 2023, asking residents to submit views on a draft Waste Strategy for Essex. ECC acknowledges the scale of this consultation and are keen to ensure it is run to best practice, ECC requires support by an independent body to ensure the consultation is adequately scrutinised before launch. ECC are requiring support on all pre-consultative activities, preparation, planning, and materials development. A particular requirement is for an external body to:

• Examine our proposals and plans for flaws that could lead to complications or challenges. • Review pre consultation engagement and governance processes • Provide feedback on engagement plans across the consultation timelines • Provide feedback on the quality of a consultation document and any related documentation • Add value to any engagement or consultation plans. • Quality assure at all stages of the consultation. • Guidance on any missing documentations, processes, or engagement routes • Sign post to best practice at every stage of consultation • Ensure steps are taken to provide ECC with a 'Consultation Readiness' Certificate
