Work description
Westmorland and Furness Council is undertaking a £5 million transformational project to revitalise Kendal's historic Market Place and Kent Street. The vision is to re-establish these spaces as vibrant, inclusive destinations at the heart of the town, enhancing their role in everyday life, encouraging social cohesion and celebrating Kendal's distinctive character and history, including its iconic Yards.
This initiative will deliver high-quality public realm improvements that: • Strengthen Kendal's identity and sense of place • Support local businesses and attract new investment • Improve accessibility and inclusivity for all users • Create a welcoming environment for cultural activity and community interaction • Ensure connectivity between recent neighbouring public real improvements (Stramongate)
