Internal Audit services for Falmouth University

The successful tenderer shall enter into a contractual relationship with both Falmouth University and Falmouth Exeter Plus for the provision of internal audit services. Falmouth University is a Higher Education Corporation incorporated under the Further and Higher Education Act 1992. Under its governing document and conditions of funding, it is required to 'have a suitably resourced internal audit function which must comply with the professional standards of the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors'. This tender seeks to procure those services. At the same time, internal audit services for the University's joint venture company, Falmouth Exeter Plus, are also being procured. Falmouth Exeter Plus is a company jointly owned with the University of Exeter and is a company limited by guarantee.

The successful provider will assist the University in ensuring a robust governance environment through a systematic, disciplined and balanced approach to the evaluation of the effectiveness of the financial and internal controls, risk management and other governance processes, recognising that these should be proportionate to the scale and nature of the University's business.

The contract will commence on 1st August 2019 and will operate for a period of three years in the first instance with an option, exercisable by the University, to extend the contract by agreement for a further two year period.

The successful bidder will be required to present a draft three year audit strategy and draft annual audit plan covering 2019/20 to the University Audit Committee in April 2019.
