Design and Sustainability Plan/Consultancy

Maidstone Borough Council (MBC) is looking to undertake a comprehensive review of its Design and Sustainability focused Non-Spatial Planning Policies. This review will take the form of a freestanding Development Plan Document (DPD) which will sit alongside the Local Plan (currently under review). The DPD should achieve higher quality and more sustainable design across the Borough, reinforce Development Management decisions, and provide stronger defence to planning appeals.

The Council is seeking to award a contract for the provision of consultancy services to assist with the creation of a Design and Sustainability Development Plan Document (DPD). The consultancy service will be expected to produce the DPD in preparation for examination, lead on evidence at examination and undertake any post examination Main Modifications, including relevant all plan assessments in line with the scope set out by the council.

Tender release: 15th November 2021 Expression of Interest Deadline: 12:00pm 1st December Deadline for submission of completed tenders: 12:00pm 8th December 2021 Evaluation: from 8th December Interviews: w/c 13th December Appointment of contractor: Thursday 6th January 2022
