Work description
There has been significant change and challenges for the NHS including the covid pandemic, the evolving NHS landscape inc the development of ICSs, provider collaboratives and, subject to legislation the establishment of ICBs planned later this year. Across the Midlands Nursing Directorate there have also been a number of changes in senior leadership positions.
As the NHS and Nursing Directorate sets to 'living with covid', and recent changes at the senior level, there is a need to review the current governance arrangements to ensure that these retain the valuable matrix working and collaboration as shown by the directorate over the last 2 years whilst being clear on individual program functions, accountabilities and responsibilities, as well as the governance framework for the Chief Nurse's Leadership Team.
The diagnostic, and consequential Governance Review sits within a broader scope of work across the Midlands relating to the development of the regional operating model. The Governance Review is to ensure that the directorate has a stronger, clearer set of governance arrangements from which the further development of our regional operating model and structures can take place
